Charbonos

Enjoyed a free Veterans Day meal and Birthday Dessert. Everything was delicious. The missing man table was nicely done. The bread and dipping oil was delicious and I always love the house salad. I enjoyed the Tuscan chicken it was superb. The chicken was cooked right on a bed of rice with spinach, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes covered in a creamy Marsala sauce. I believe this is my favorite meal from here. Hubs enjoyed the Chicken Pesto pizza. Macy was a great server always checking in on us. So happy we chose to enjoy a free delicious meal here!

We went during lunchtime and there was very little activity. The bar attendant became our waiter. The booth we sat in was a little small. I would have been more comfortable with a little more space. The food was good, but I was originally brought the wrong dish. Thankfully, the waiter was able to find my ordered meal. I had the cheese burger. What was originally brought to me was the chicken parm, which looked good. I debated just eating it. We also had the burbon Street chicken, which was good and spicy. The other members of our party got the steak and the salad. Both said the meal was good and the salad meal was very large. Overall, it's a good place to eat. The price is a little on the high end, but what isn't now days.

Absolutely superb. Atmosphere, service, chief and food. I haven't been here for years. I stopped by after work and now have determined this to be my number one spot. Shrimp cocktail, caesar salad, salmon were 5 star. I had to try the carrot cake, which is an absolute must.

EDIT: General Manager Jeff called me personally to make things right, and I genuinely appreciate it. He definitely understood the weight of the situation and assured me that they will ensure the staff is educated and up to date with their allergen training, and that this was hopefully a one-off. Given that I’ve had more good experiences than bad experiences with CRG, I hope to return at some point and feel safe doing so. *Would not recommend for those with severe allergies* We’ve been going to Charbono’s and other Cunningham restaurants for years, and we’ve always had great food and service, but we had a bad experience 12/22 (last night) that could have ended up much worse for someone with anaphylaxis. My daughter has a severe milk protein intolerance, and we both are required to be dairy-free as she is still nursing. We hardly ever eat out because of this, but we have always trusted Cunningham when we do. We ate here 12/22 and I confirmed with our server more than once that both she and I cannot have dairy. I ordered a salad with no cheese and told the server that I believe the Mediterranean dressing is dairy free as I’d had it before, and she said she would ask the kitchen. She never confirmed with me that it was dairy free, so when my food arrived, I asked if she had checked with the kitchen if it is dairy free- she said no she did not, but she could go check now. She came back a few moments later and confirmed yes, the dressing is dairy free. I poured some of the dressing over the salad, and took a bite and immediately tasted cheese- noticed lots of feta sprinkled in the dressing. I called the server back over and told her I just ate dairy after confirming it was dairy free - no apology at all, she just asked what other kind of dressing I would like…I was taken aback. I assume there’s a protocol in place for when something like this happens, and the manager did come to bring me a new salad and apologized profusely and took the salad off the bill. She assured me that they take allergies very seriously there, but I’m not sure how seriously they could be taken if something like this is able to happen after confirming more than once that I cannot have dairy. Unfortunately my daughter has been up with severe stomach pain tonight and probably will be affected for at least the next 24 hours. She will be okay, but it makes me worry about people that may have anaphylactic reactions. I understand that mistakes happen, which is why I try to be extremely clear when explaining what’s needed, but this was a really upsetting experience.

Great food, great atmosphere. We went there on a slow week night. Had most of the restaurant to ourselves except for another large party doing the same. There was maybe 10 of us for a work dinner. The pizza was excellent, and the desserts were incredible. One of the gentlemen I was with ordered a slice of carrot cake, I swear he got a 5 lb piece. I will definitely eat there again.

Angela was our waitress and she was fabulous, wonderful, honest and very friendly! If you go please request her! We ordered the bruschetta antipasto and it was delicious. I ordered the shrimp and polenta and it was amazing! Very authentic Italian flavored! We also ordered the fried grouper and it was very good as well. I had a dirty martini and it was really delicious. In general was a great experience, restaurant’s ambiance is nice and cozy.

We had a mix up in our order requiring another meal to be made. The manager did a very good job in helping us with the adjustment to the bill after we explained the situation. He treated us very fairly and had a generous attitude toward the whole situation. We want to publicly thank him for caring about his customers and went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. The meals were delicious and our dinning experience end on a high note. Thank you!

Antipasto appetizer tastes delicious, salty and crunchy with a little sweet balsamic glaze, but it is a little messy and hard to eat too. Their house bread is baked fresh and original dipping sauce has sun dried tomatoes in it with some spices and oil. The French Onion soup is very good - if you usually like it this one is worth trying! Overall the food is great, the service is friendly, and we will definitely be back.
